Salmon seasoned with homemade rub that combines paprika, chili powder, cumin, and cayenne. But only if you want a little spice in your life.
Ingredients
- 4 — 4 oz. Salmon Fillets De-Boned and De- Skinned
- 1 T Honey
- 2 T Olive Oil, Divided
- 1 t Paprika
- 1 T Chili Powder
- 1 t Cumin
- Salt and Pepper to Taste
- ⅛ t Cayenne Pepper, optional
Instructions
- In a shallow dish, combine honey and 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil and lightly brush onto each salmon fillet, flesh side up.
- In another shallow dish, combine chili powder, salt, pepper and cumin to make the dry rub. Using your hands, rub mixture onto the flesh sides of the salmon fillets.
- Heat a large iron skillet to medium-high heat. Add remaining 1 Tbsp olive oil. When hot, add salmon fillets skin side down and immediately reduce heat to medium-low. (If you have a splatter guard, I recommend placing it on top at this time.)
- Pan-sear salmon for 5 minutes, remove from stove and coat again with honey mixture again. place in preheated oven on 350f for 7-10 minutes depending on thickness. serve and enjoy.
