Wasabi Ahi Tuna with Ginger Reduction

This Asian inspired tuna steak dish uses the wonderful combination of wasabi and ginger to create the perfect amount of spice and flavor!
Ingredients
- 4 Ahi Tuna Fillets
- 1 T extra virgin olive oil
- 1 T ground black peppercorn
- 1 t salt
- ¼ c white sesame seed
- 2 T wasabi paste
- 1 T paleo mayo
- 1 t minced ginger
- 1 T pure maple syrup
- ¼ c Tamari sauce
Instructions
- In a bowl mix salt, pepper and sesame seed.
- Take tuna and coat in seed mixture.
- Place oil in pan and heat to med-high heat.
- Place tuna steaks down and allow to cook 1 minute on each side for a rare tuna steak. Up to 2 minutes for medium well.
Wasabi Sauce
- Take wasabi paste and mix with mayo. Blend well.
Ginger Reduction
- Take Ginger, syrup and Tamari.
- Place in a small sauce pan and place on low-med heat. Heat until a bubble and contine stirring. Remove from heat and let reduction cool. It will thicken.
